Ecoscrapbook Earth Day Blog Hop

Hi, Crafty Friends,

Let's celebrate this wonderful day together. Today is
EARTH DAY....what better way to celebrate and honor this day then
with a blog hop.

My wonderful scrappy friend, Danielle, is hosting a blog hop today and I was invited
to participate. I have learned so much from her about becoming an eco-friendly scrapper.
I am proud to be a part of this event! Thank you so much, Danielle! I hope that you
will become well-acquainted with her blog and enjoy visiting there as much as I do.

Please visit the blogs below. We have some awesome scrappers participating. The blog
hop begins with Danielle.

I want to share some of my eco-friendly tips with you. Then, I will invite you
to continue to hop with all of us. You should have arrived from Jules' blog.

When I started scrapping 14 years ago, I never imagined all the wonderful things I
could do to be eco-friendly at home as well as in my scraproom.

At home, I have become more conscious of turning lights off, recycling items that I
ordinarily would have put in the trash and using products that are kind to the environ-
ment.

When I scrap, here are just a few things that have become a part of my favorite hobby.

Of course, I love using goodies from my stash....no matter how old they are. Actually,
I find that kind of neat. I also love to find uses for items the that I might have
ordinarily pitched ie: cereal boxes for chipboard, empty containers for storing my
scrapbooking supplies and those adorable see through zipper bags that sheets come in.
I use those to store my ribbon, tulle and the like....just to name a few.

Oh, back to using stuff from my stash....I love going through goodies as I find things
that I bought when I first started scrapping....it's like going shopping.  Speaking of
shopping, I have tried to minimize my trips to crafty places. I do still go, though. I love
getting new goodies, too!

Did I mention goodies? Yes, I think I did. I will have a little goodie for one of you
who comments on this post today by a random draw. Due the cost of shipping, the
prize can only be awarded to US residents....I am sorry. I still appreciate your support!

Here is an eco-friendly project that I would love to share with you. We all love pictures, right?
Here is a fun way to show off your special photo. See if you can guess what it is?

1. Take a cereal box and open up all of the sides; then cut it open as shown.

2. Using a scissor or exacto-knife, trim all of the edges around the entire box.

3. Then, cut the box in half; this will allow you to create 2 pictures frames. Whoops, now
     you know, wink!!

4. Adhere 1 box half to your favorite wrapping paper. Be sure to place the adhesive on
the brown side of the box. This will keep the design on the cereal box from show-
    ing through.

5. After trimming excess wrapping paper, cut out a space in the center of the frame
   for your photo.

6. Then embellish as desired. Viola, you have your frame all ready for your favorite
     photo.

7.  Follow the natural folds of the cereal box to shape your frame as shown.
Adhere the  photo to the inside of the frame. By the way, do you recognize the
cutie in the picture? That's Blake Lewis from American Idol, season 6. He is a
     very talented musician!

Supplies: Cereal box, Wrapping paper (Michael's), Ribbon (American Crafts), Blake
letters (Provo-craft), Bling (Making Memories), guitar pick (my stash), Adhesive
(Glue Dots® Pop dot and Ultra-thin dots) and Ticket stubs (from a door prize draw).

I would like to thank, Jonathan, from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkPVgINmVN0
for his excellent tutorial on Youtube.

Once again, thank you for popping by! Keep on hopping to Mariah's blog for more
crafty fun!!

Happy Scrapping,

Renee

P.S. I will keep the giveaway open through Thursday, April 26th!

  3. Yes, I think we all learn a lot from Danielle don't we? This frame is such a perfect example of what we can do with "stuff" from around the house. Super.
